I have always ordered these curtains but the last time I ordered I wasn’t paying attention the color and ordered the same grey color again. Needless to say, I had to return them, but that was my error. I plan on ordering again but not sure if the lighter color will still block out the light. I suffer from migraines and need total darkness even on a sunny day. These thermal blackout curtains work well. I bought some for our bedroom, and they significantly reduce the light entering the room. Not perfect darkness, but certainly worth the cost. You get what you pay for, and I would say that these are priced about right.I bought more to seal off the one room we can air condition, so the hot air stays in the rest of the house. They work well as thermal barriers in this application. These are AMAZING!!! I purchased the White blackout curtains and they block light perfectly!!!These are beautiful curtains and they are 100% black out as advertised. Our local box store had them, but then they'd sell out or whatever reason be out of stock. They arrived promptly. These are the 62 inch ones and though they just cover the window, I have not had any issues with light peeking out and waking me in the morning. I would buy again, though maybe something that shows texture.Warning, they are wrinkled and if you wash them, they will continue to show the wrinkles. The QC for sewing is a little off. Thankfully I am handy and could fix the hem in the top rod pocket. Other than that, good price and does what it says it will. These are very nice drapesMy bedroom is on the second floor and my window faces east so it gets a lot of sun. At night, a streetlight across the street shines into my bedroom. I had installed a shade some years ago to block that light, and it does the job, but during the summer my room gets uncomfortably warm during the day and takes a long time to cool down at night. I got these drapes on Saturday and installed them then. My room stays cooler during the day. They don't block out the light completely, but that is due more to how the curtain rods are placed. I used rods that were already in place so a little light leaks out at the top. I'm sure that if my rods were placed differently, I wouldn't have any issues with that at all. The color is true to what's pictured. The drapes have tabs as well as rod pockets. They are a bit heavy so make sure your set up can hold them.Great weight, well made and drapes well. These are THE blackout curtains to get!!! I couldn't find any other seller that sold SETS at this price point with such good reviews.Every other seller sold them as single panels for more than half the price of this set and even then the reviews were mixed about the curtains blackout ability.I was a little nervous about my purchase of these in Teal Blue because no other reviewer had provided pictures with their review for Teal Blue. Teal is a difficult color to shop for online because so many have different opinions of what is teal, teal green & turquoise. Usually unless you see it in person it's hard to match it with the teal you need for your decor. This teal blue however is exactly as shown in the product picture. Most product pictures give warning of allowing the color to be off so many shades in either degree but this product picture is spot on.I bought these to hang from the back tabs because I just personally prefer the way curtains hang from them better than the look you get hanging from the rod sleeve. As you can see in the picture I am still in the process of hanging these and decided to pair with sheer window scarves to soften them up a bit. But I did purchase a blackout curtain rod to hang these on. It allows the curtain to hang flush with the wall and stops any light from escaping on the sides like it would on curtains rods that have the fancy balls or finials on the end.If you are purchasing these for heating/cooling cost or sleeping in complete darkness I would suggest getting a blackout curtain rod to hang these on. But if you don't mind the light and heat leaking out along the sides then buy whatever curtain rod you prefer that matches your decor.Because I was using the back tabs to hang these and since the product measurements are given as a flat panel I bought 2 pair for my window to make up for the width lost that occurs when you use back tabs and gives you that pleated look. But I believe I will be removing one panel and putting it on another window in the end because 4 is just too much for my size window and I really want those pleats to have room to form and go from top to bottom. It's too crowded in pictures I provided and the pleats get lost.Pictures were taken at 2 in the afternoon on a full sunny day with no cloud coverage. Blinds are completely open and as you can see there are no light leakage spots through the curtains, along the side, top or bottom except where I have opened one panel to show you these curtains blackout ability.I plan on buying more for other rooms now that I know firsthand that these are as good as they are advertised and they are such a value for the money compared to other sellers. The description of these were that they had 3 layers, the center one being the black panel. I got the Navy curtains, for 6 large windows. I read that there would be the Navy color facing the street, but what you see from the outside of my windows is Black! I'm a disabled senior female, it was enough for me to screw in the curtain rods and hang the curtains, don't have the energy and health to take them all down and drive an hour to mail them back, so am stuck with them. I was going to buy more for my other 10 windows but not now. Truth in advertising should matter to all sellers of all products! My daughter has a south facing room and it gets very bright and hot in summer. My husband and I also have blackouts in our room because he works nights occasionally. Ours were quite a bit more expensive. I didn’t want to spend that much again so I found these. Let me just say they put our $250+ blackouts to SHAME as far as thickness and room darkening. Are they as nice from a design standpoint? No, they are simple. But wow, they work! If you need a window darkened or for climate control, these are excellent! We also got a free bath mat with our purchase that was excellent so 5 stars it is!I have these on 3 windows, they're 100% blackout and look great. Haven't noticed any quality issues at all. The only problem is a bit of a design flaw, in my opinion. The rod pocket is very tall which is great, it makes it bunch easily etc, but there's no fabric above it, which means unless you can install your curtain rod pressed up against the ceiling, there's going to be a light gap at the top. I solved this by sewing a horizontal seam to divide the rod pocket in half and I put the rod through the lower half, but not everyone can just do that.I paired these curtains with a wrap-around curtain rod for my bedroom windows, and it has been a life-changer. These curtains are truly 100% opaque blackout curtains; the only light that comes through is via the gap at the top due to the curtain rod I chose. It's shocking how dark my bedroom can get in the middle of the day. Sometimes the curtains may flap a little if the window is left open, but I can pin them shut or explore other solutions. Otherwise they don't gap along the sides at all. I paid ~$60 CAD for these and it was totally worth the cost. Very few of the other blackout curtains in this price range had a black fabric layer and so are mostly not 100% opaque like these are. I would recommend these to everyone who needs a dark room. The description says they come with grommets. They do not. They do not hang as well as curtains with grommets. I ordered them specifically because the description indicated they come with silver grommets. So....an update...after ordering 5 sets of these curtains...here's my conclusions.....First two sets had grommets and were room darkening. Second two sets did NOT have grommets but were room darkening. Third set DID have grommets but were not room darkening. It's hit and miss and if you don't have any luck selling them, then you will probably have to deal with a return. They are nice heavy curtains when they are room darkening. The grommets make them hang nice, without them, not so nice.
